Hotel Kanin serves as an example of an acquisition of a tourist resort property. The hotel had 260 beds whilst the whole resort extended on a 40,000 square metre plot in the heart of Bovec, a tourist centre located in the Slovenian Alps. Bovec is both a winter and a summer centre. Nearby is the Kanin ski resort, as well as an excellent hiking terrain and in the hotel’s vicinity the Soca River flows by and compliments the beautiful greenery of the place.

The auction of Hotel Kanin by CEEREF was concluded at an auction from the largest Slovenian retailer, Mercator. Our fund’s intentions included developing a residential complex on the land of the Hotel. The hotel was rented from the first day of our acquisition untill it was sold when an attractive offer was presented to us. Nearly a year later the project was sold to the Slovenian entertainment company HIT for EUR 3.6 million.
